Hi Irfa, fresh pineapple is always good over canned, however, the latter which is in heavy syrup usually is much sweeter. Try not to use the middle part of the fresh pineapple, but mostly the outer part.
Also, make sure the fresh pineapple is fully ripened when you use it. Hope that helps.
