Thanks, Glen. I don't have a specific favorite brand of white wine.Sometimes we get wine gifts and I pick from that batch. Or if we have wine leftovers in an open bottle, I store them to use for cooking -- both white or red. There are many brands of cooking wine in stores which you can also use. But I try to be economical and just use what I have on hand. Enjoy the recipe and let me know how it turns out.

Thanks, Rachel. Your comments are heartwarming. Glad to find readers like this pasta and tuyo recipe. I bought our Tuyo in Olive Oil from a Filipino store in our area, but the next time I went back for more they were sold out. I suggest you look at online sources. Some Filipino groceries now ship grocery or dry goods. Sorry I can't give a specific brand because the stores don't carry the same ones when I go back.

Hi!

I live in Baltimore, and I'm looking for dried herring that uses only olive oil as its oil. We have a brand in our Filipino store, but it is mixed with corn oil. Does the brand you have only have olive oil? Also, what is this brand? Where can I get it?

GREAT recipe, by the way! I love tuyo!!

Thanks!

Thanks, Nami. Yes, you can use canned sardines on pasta (no spicy chilies for children, though) and the outcome is delish.

My kids love fish, and my son eats sardine (canned) as a snack. My family would love this dish. I know a lot of people (especially here in America) are unfortunately not a big fan of fish dish like this.... too bad. More for us. :D
