Thanks for visiting the blog, Grace. The granulated sugar has been on the list of ingredients ever since and in the procedure (please see Make the Lemon Filling). Water is not an ingredient in this recipe. Hope that helps.

My son loves this lemon squares. Over at dinner table today he remembered our neighbor in FL who baked these goodies and how he loved them. Now he is telling me that I should make them.
