This Chicken and Pork Adobo A La Pobre is a basic Filipino national dish, with additional ingredients to make it more special. The sauce base has the familiar garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, pepper, and bay leaves. This makes a good flavor contrast to the addition of tomatoes, eggplants, plantains and calamansi to the mix. Serve this festive dish for family meals, Christmas or the holidays

Cook a whole fish with its tail and head intact or else cook a fillet with a few basic condiments. The best fish and seafood dishes are a result of fresh ingredients. Be sure to cook the fish the same day it is purchased. Fish mongers offer free services of cleaning and gutting the fish for you.

It is cured pork slices which has a sweet savory flavor. I grew up enjoying pork tocino in my childhood home, for breakfast. It was always a treat to enjoy it with garlic fried rice, eggs made sunny side up and chopped tomatoes on the side.

This savory noodle dish had the spicy and zesty Asian savory flavors and aromas infused on the succulent beef shreds and vegetable slices. It was too good to put down. This is a great family dish that can go well with barbecued sides and entrees. I suggest to cook the beef brisket ahead, a day or several hours before for maximum, tender results.

Tim suggested to marinate the pork with a dry rub for a few hours. Then cook the pork in broth for eight hours till tender. You’ll have an amazing pulled pork entrée that’s sweet and spicy, and velvety tender. Put pulled pork on a cheese-covered bun or serve with boiled jasmine rice.
