This is a simple method of soaking the eggs in a salt-water brine solution for more than 3 weeks, then boiling the eggs afterwards. The results are a hard-boiled, salty egg version which can be used as ingredients for salads, steamed buns, on pastries and rice cakes, or even to coat potato chips. This was a recipe shared by the late Pinoy Chef Theodore "Day" Salonga"

They are cooked by steaming on the stovetop. Once cooked and firm, these rice cakes are sprinkled with grated coconut on top and served for meryenda snacks or desserts.

Every ingredient in this hearty tomato-sauce based stew appeals to everyone. Hefty, tender beef cubes are nestled next to smoky-flavored Spanish chorizos. The vegetables consist of half the stew and there's a complete array of cabbage, green beans, potatoes, carrots. Serve this with sides of tangy eggplant hash, and sweet plantains. It is an all-in-one meal that's so indulgent, yet easy-to-do.

Relish the fragrant, fresh aroma of the coconut-flavored custard as you pour the thick liquid into the caramel-lined pan. The entire flan is cooked in a water bath, then refrigerated overnight to firm up before serving. Individual slices of flan are topped with sweet macapuno strings, making it a superb dessert.

The amount of ingredients have been scaled down in this recipe for a family meal. This is a basic stir-fried dish that's easy to put together. The mixed vegetables of cabbage, carrots, green beans, celery, mushrooms are stir-fried with garlic and onions, and cooked together with the silky rice noodles. Seasonings of vegetarian fish sauce and soy sauce, plus citrusy lemon are poured all over to coat the noodles and vegetables.

The thick batter mixes quickly with an electric mixer and bakes in under an hour. The result is a buttery-fragrant rich, dense cake that is crisp on the outside and chewy-gooey soft inside. Some say this cake is similar to the Filipino cassava or bibingka, and this is why it's a personal favorite of mine for potlucks, family gatherings, after-school snacks, or a dessert for dinner.
