Thanks, Laura. I wrote the essay originally to tell a story to my sons about my summers making mango jam with mom. What great memories they were of a simple family ritual. You’re right, food is always about family and memories. Thanks for the nice comments. I enjoy your blog-visits very much 🙂

The stories about your mom always get to me. Food for is always ultimately about family and especially memories of my grandma and of course my mom, whom I am still making memories with today.
